This book explains how to use Microsoft Excel.

There are many different versions of Excel. This material aims to cover the basic ideas that are generically applicable to most recent versions of Microsoft Excel. The text focuses on Excel 365 (circa 2024). However, the vast majority of this material applies to other versions of Excel as well.

Note that, other than Microsoft Excel, there exist other “spreadsheet” programs and online offerings that are very similar to Excel in many ways. Some of these other offerings include those listed below.

While, much of the material presented here will apply to these other spreadsheet programs, some of the material will not. Most significantly, there are numerous functions that will work in Microsoft Excel but not in some of these other programs.
